Surgery day
i dropped Axle off this morning for surgery, what an emotional time. I cried and cried while talking to the vet. I know this is for the best. It still hurts. Here is a pic of Axle this morning xx
Introduction
Hi
lovely to find such a large network of support and beautiful stories here at tripawd.com
my name is Kristy and I’m the proud owner of Axle an 8 year young brindle/ back English Staffy, who is nothing short of amazing, full of beans and love and we think he thinks his one of us.
unfortunately 2 weeks ago Axle was diagnosed with a malignant cancer in his front right leg joint, after an a fine needle aspirated and then tumor removal with dirty margins, it’s been decided axles only chance of beating this is with amputation, which has been a tough choice for me and even the day before surgery(tomorrow) I’ve still got crazy thoughts running through my head. Axles tumor is most likely a synovial sarcoma, which is rare in dogs and even more Staffys.
his results from his tumor didn’t give us a reading for the grade of his cancer but we are crossing fingers it’s low, his testing for lung and node mets and abdominal ultrasound was clear.
ill update after axles surgery.
Xx
